WFF Beginning Fly Fishing School
Spend an early summer weekend at a cabin resort in the quiet town of Petersville, Alaska. This weekend getaway offers fly fishing instruction for beginner- to intermediate-level anglers in knots, fly identification, fly tying, casting, and a salmon cooking course. In addition to the instructional portion of this getaway, there is an afternoon of float tubing on the lovely Gate Lake for Rainbow Trout.
Our experienced fishing guides will lead you through each step, ensuring a supportive and enriching learning environment. It’s the perfect weekend excursion for women looking to dive into the world of fly fishing in Alaska. Join us for this unique and economical experience just a short drive from Anchorage!

Schedule and Accommodations

Day 1:
Drive to Gate Creek
Arrive between 4:30 pm and 6:00 pm, Settle into your cabin
Dinner at the lodge
Social hour
Day 2:
Breakfast
Class time from 9am - 2pm, with a break for lunch
Float tube fishing in the afternoon
Salmon cooking class in the evening

Cancellation / refund policy: 50% of trip cost due at time of booking, last 50% of trip cost due 60 days prior to the trip date. Should you cancel your trip, a refund will be made only if your space can be filled, minus a 10% service charge. We make no refunds nor assume any additional expenses if weather or any reason beyond our control renders you unable to complete a trip or any other part of an itinerary. We reserve the right to cancel a trip because of low enrollment or other circumstances and will refund all funds paid to us in such a case.
