This year’s trip to Cordova saw folks from NY and CT making their first trip to Alaska and having their first opportunity to fish for Pacific Salmon with us. Our trip to Brooks Lodge and the Brooks River this year proved to be a little too early for the salmon. Plus, the bears were just arriving for their summer feast. Alaska had one of its toughest winters in 2011-12, with record snow falls everywhere and a very late spring. Brooks was no exception, so we found the water high, cold, and somewhat off-color, which was really no surprise.
